<subfield code="a">This study was undertaken to explore the possibility of using an increased thickness latex examination/surgical glove to prevent exposure to contaminated body fluids resulting from needlesticks. It was hypothesized that there is a glove thickness that provides greater protection against needlesticks without compromising the dexterity and tactility of the hand, and that this glove thickness can be achieved without incurring substantial manufacturing cost</subfield>
