<abstract displayLabel="Summary">The interim grade for antilock braking systems, or ABS, is an "incomplete". The auto industry has full faith in the safety benefits of ABS. Consumers like the safety device, too. And there's been no raft of complaints that the systems don't work properly. The problem is the data. Early research by reliable sources shows that ABS has not reduced the number or severity of crashes that result in insurance claims</abstract>
