<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En las últimas dos décadas Australia y Nueva Zelanda se han visto en la necesidad de admitir que, pese a sus innatos encantos, no han logrado escapar de los problemas ambientales que afectan a otros países. En Australia se ha visto un gran surgimiento de asociaciones entre los sectores industrial y universitario con fines ambientalistas, y el gobierno federal está otorgando donaciones a aquellas compañías que logren demostrar proyectos encaminados al desarrollo de tecnologías de producción más limpias. En Nueva Zelanda la ley exige la obtención de permisos ambientales para aquellos proyectos que involucren el uso del suelo, su subdivisión, las descargas que puedan producirse, las áreas costeras y los cuerpos de agua</abstract>
