<abstract>La denominación de recorridos de tiro resulta de la traducción coloquial que se ha hecho de lo que internacionalmente se conoce como IPSC. Estas siglas corresponden a "International Practical Shooting Confederation" que básicamente es un deporte procedente de los Estado Unidos . El origen de este tiro práctico se sitúa en 1947, en Quantico, Virginia, como resultado de las investigaciones sobre instrucción de tiro llevadas a cabo por los militares Jeff Cooper y Howland G. Taft. El primero de estos fue el auténtico motor de esta modalidad de tiro como competición, organizado en 1963 la primera liga en la zona suroeste de los Estados Unidos</abstract>
