<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Las brechas de protección de ingresos se definen aqui como la reducción de la renta familiar como consecuencia de fallecimiento o incapacitación de un trabajador adulto en el que recaiga la responsabilidad familiar, teniendo en cuenta todas las fuentes de ingresos de sustitución tanto públicas como privadas. Así, las brechas de protección de ingresos afectan a nivel familiar y local donde tienen lugar, pero dependen a nivel global de las relaciones entre gobiernos, trabajadores e individuos. </abstract>
