Publicación: Madrid : Fundación MAPFRE, 2019Notas: Sumario: Giving continuity to the analyzes carried out by the MAPFRE Studies Service, this report presents the update of the GIP-MAPFRE Global Insurance Potential Index (Global Insurance Potential Index) for 96 insurance markets, both developed and emerging, which was originally proposed in 2018. As in our previous report, based on the analysis of the economic and demographic factors that determine the growth of the Insurance Protection Gap, as well as the measurement of the closing capacity of the insurance gap in each market (speed of convergence to the levels of penetration and density of developed markets), the GIP-MAPFRE measures that potential based on the one hand, of the capacity that countries have to create an insurance gap and, on the other, to materialize it in the effective expansion of the insurance market. In this way, GIP-MAPFRE allows the markets to be ordered according to their potential contribution to closing the global insurance gap, offering a comparative view of the global expansion potential of the insurance industry in the coming years.
