Publicación: Madrid : Fundación MAPFRE, 2021Notas: Sumario: The 2020 Ranking of Insurance Groups in Latin America presents the situation of the different insurance groups operating in the region according to the criterion of their annual written premiums. This year, due to the strong impact of the crisis caused by the COVID-19pandemic on the global economy, in general and in Latin America in particular, the analysis has considered the abstraction of the effect that the volatility of the exchange rate has had. In this respect, two exchange rates have been considered for analytical purposes in the report: On the one hand, a constant exchange rate without the pernicious effect caused by the abrupt and sudden devaluation of currencies and, on the other hand, the average exchange rate of the year as in previous years, which includes this effect. As such, this report aims to dynamically observe how the main insurance market agents have performed, focusing on both growth and contribution to the concentration levels of the industry. A dynamic overview of performance indicators for the main insurance groups operating in Latin America is thus provided for 20102020. Also, in order to distinguish trends from specific moments in time, the analysis has been divided into dynamics observed in the last decade and specific dynamics recorded in the last year.
