<abstract displayLabel="Summary">The development of a Savings and Investments Union is a crucial priority as it aims to improve the way the EU financial system channels savings to productive investment, creating more and a wider range of financial opportunities for people and businesses, notably sustainable businesses. The EU offers attractive investment opportunities, including to investors from third countries, but it is important to render it an even more attractive investment destination by enhancing its overall growth potential. Such attractiveness should be secured by means of strong aggregate demand, support to private investment, access to cleaner and more affordable energy, raw materials and advanced technologies, as well as a simpler business environment in a single market with fewer barriers. The private sector, civil society and various national authorities have also put forward many ideas on how to make the Savings and Investments Union a success.As confirmed by the feedback from all stakeholders 11, which the Commission has taken into account, delivering on the Savings and Investments Union will require a combination of EU level and national level measures</abstract>
