Las reglas que se dan en esta guía tienen por finalidad mejorar la seguridad relacionada con el manejo de tornos. Esta guía incluye tres clases de información destinadas a mejorar la seguridad en las tareas de corte de metales. Estas son: una lista de las reglas destinadas a reducir la cantidad de lesiones que sufren los trabajadores cuando manejan tornos comunes y de torrecilla ; un método para identificar las reglas específicas establecidas en esta guía, las cuales son apropiadas para las necesidades de seguridad de un taller; sugerencias para ayudar a poner en práctica estas reglas</abstract>
