Carpal tunnel syndrome and other cumulative trauma disorders are the fastest growing category of occupational injuries in the United States. Carpal tunnel syndrome is the result of compression of the median nerve, a major nerve that conducts sensation from the hand as it passes through the narrow tunnel of bone and ligament at the wrist.
