Sumario: A practical method for assessing vibration exposure for workers operating vibrating hand tools on an automobile assembly line is presented. The purpose of this paper is to (1) present some practical aspects of occupational hand-arm vibration exposure assessment. (2) identify characteristics of typical vibrating hand tools used in automobile assembly, (3) determine representative vibration exposures for selected jobs that require operating surface finishing hand tools such as rotary or reciprocating sanders
