<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En este artículo se hace especial referencia a la situación en que se encuentran en este momento los debates en torno a los nuevos temas que deberá abordar la Organización Mundial de Comercio: comercio internacional y competencia, dimensión social del comercio internacional y comercio internacional y medio ambiente. El primer tema, aunque todavía no forma parte del programa oficial de la OMC, responde a un consenso generalizado acerca de su necesaria incorporación para el tratamiento integral de las cuestiones de acceso al mercado, y el segundo es todavía objeto de encendidas pasiones de signo contrario que de momento conducen a su bloqueo</abstract>
