<abstract>Los equipos de protección respiratoria se diferencian en su eficacia en aislar al usuario del entorno de trabajo. Dicha eficacia se expresa en términos de "fuga hacia el interior" del contaminante ambiental, es decir la cantidad de contaminante que pasa a la zona de respiración del usuario. Debe seleccionarse un equipo en el que la fuga hacia el interior sea lo suficientemente pequeña para no exceder el valor límite de exposición al contaminante en el aire de inhalación</abstract>
