<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Con el presente artículo, se pretenden tres objetivos. El primero, construir el perfil de la población española mayor de 65 años que se encuentra en situación de dependencia. El segundo, estudiar los principales aspectos que influyen en la prevalencia de la dependencia. Y el tercero, establecer las relaciones entre el estado de salud autopercibido y la prevalencia de la dependencia. Para ello se han explotado los datos de la Encuesta de condiciones de vida de las personas mayores en España, llevada a cabo por el Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS) en 2006</abstract>
