An additional 10% were subsidiaries of mutuals/cooperatives or other insurers operating on the basis of mutualist/cooperative business principles and/or governance -- In 2008, mutual and cooperative insurers (in the strict sense, but including
their subsidiaries) had a market share of over 18%, slightly down on 2004.
