<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Global insurance hubs play a key role in the sharing of risk, providing a convenient one-stop shopping center where insurers, reinsurers, brokers, clients and other professional services firms can meet and get business done quickly and easily. As insurers expand into Asia and the Middle East, new regional hubs are emerging to allow greater proximity to clients. A number of issues, however, are a potential concern, not just for the emerging hubs, but for established ones like London and Bermuda. There's the coming exit of the U.K. from the European Union, proposed tax reform in the U.S., as well as concerns about protectionism and barriers to international trade. In the following package, Best's Review looks at some of the issues and what they mean for key emerging and established insurance hubs.</abstract>
