<abstract displayLabel="Summary">El impacto económico de la pandemia del COVID19 podría generar un efecto desplazamiento (Displacement Effect) como el previsto por la teoría de Alan Peacock y Jack Wiseman, según la cual situaciones de crisis sanitarias, turbulencias sociales y episodios bélicos se traducen inicialmente en incrementos en el gasto del sector público, que no se corrigen con posterioridad. Como resultado, la ratio de gasto público en términos de PIB no recupera el nivel pre-crisis, de forma que este tipo de episodios es una de las causas de una tendencia estructural de aumento del gasto del sector público.</abstract>
