<subfield code="a">Pension fund assets in the top 22 countries (P22) have hit a record high, standing at $56.6 trillion at the end of 2021.
This new record comes after a year-on-year growth of 6.9% in the assets managed by the P22.
Geographically, this growth in 2021 has been driven mainly by Anglo-Saxon countries: 11.6% in Australia; 8.5% in the United States; and 7.7% in the United Kingdom, a country that, in addition, has snatched Japan from second place in the ranking after it has suffered a 1.1% drop in the volume of assets in its pension plans</subfield>
