<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Card, doctor en Economía por la Universidad de Princeton, nació en Guelph, Canadá, en 1956 en el seno de una familia ganadera. Tras obtener su doctorado en 1983 ejerció como docente en las prestigiosas universidades de Harvard, Princeton y Berkeley, donde actualmente es director del Centro de Economía Laboral y del Laboratorio Econométrico. En 1995 publicó, junto con Alan Krueger, "Myth and Measurement: The New Economic of the Minimal Wage", libro que ejerció una gran influencia en el sector. Ese mismo año, recibió el Premio John Bates Clark de la American Economics Association </abstract>
