<abstract displayLabel="Summary">El primer y fundamental elemento de toda política de sostenibilidad ambiental es evitar la contaminación y el daño al medio ambiente. El daño, sin embargo, no siempre se puede evitar. La actividad humana, y dentro de la misma, muy especialmente, la de naturaleza económica, puede generar los llamados siniestros medioambientales. En estos casos en que las cosas se tuercen, es cuando el seguro entra en juego.</abstract>
