The results show that the opportunities for reverse mortgage markets globally remain strong and that the potential for growth is significant. In many countries, ageing populations represent a social, economic and intergenerational challenge. The development of a secure reverse mortgage market is seen as part of the solution. It is key to establish consumer-focused industry standards that not only protect the customer, but also create an environment that encourages innovation and the entry of new players and socially responsible investors
