Sumario: Behavioural tests which measure specific aspects of nervous system function are valuable in assessing the effects of occupational exposure to neurotoxic substances. In occupational hygiene, these testing methods provide a practical means to determine whether environmental controls are sufficient to prevent neurotoxic effects. A six-year study of effects of elemental mercury exposure is briefly reviewed here to provide an illustration of behavioural testing methods
