Sumario: This review was begun at the instigation of the Asbestos International Association under a contract study to provide background information on measuring methods for airborne asbestos dust at the workplace in conection with the proposed development of regulations for asbestos by the European Community. This review contains the five following parts: nature and occurrence of asbestos dust; measurement parameters for asbestos and biological evidence; development of methods for measuring airborne asbestos dust; the membrane filter/optical microscope filter; summary,discussion and conclusions
