<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En el presente artículo, los autores realizan este análisis pra el período 1963-1988, comparando la especialización industrial española con la de los países de dos bloques: el formado por los países de la CE y el formado por éste ampliado con Estados Unidos, Canadá y Japón. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que la mayoría de los países, entre ellos España, no siguen una orientación estratégica clara. En cambio, se observa que, en el período considerado, Japón ha abandonado ciertos sectores y se ha especializado con decisión en aquellos que presentan un mayor crecimiento de la demanda mundial</abstract>
