Sumario: The pattern of back pain in physiotherapists was compared to that in a control group, matched for age and sex, using a self-administered questionnaire. The questionnaire was designed to determine the epidemiology, subjective perception of causes of the initial onset and consequences of back pain in the two groups. Physiotherapists were additionally asked about their involvement in back care education and about their own training in lifting skills
