<abstract>El incendio debe afrontarse con medidas de protección no sólo de tipo constructivo sino también con medidas organizativas. La Norma Básica de Edificación-Condiciones de Protección de Incendios de 1996 (NBE-CPI-96) así lo refleja. El artículo analiza ambos aspectos, en primer lugar a partir del propio texto legal de la NBE-CPI-96 y, en segundo lugar, a través de las Respuestas a las consultas dirigidas a la Dirección General de la Vivienda, la arquitectura y el Urbanismo (Ministerio de Fomento)</abstract>
