<abstract>El propósito del presente artículo es analizar las causas y tendencias que vienen determinando la formación del ahorro en España, así como presentar las previsiones para el año actual y el próximo. Se comenta brevemente el marco macroeconómico en el que se está desenvolviendo la economía española y en el que los agentes económicos toman las decisiones que les llevan a mantener o variar sus pautas de ahorro. Se analiza tambien la evolución y las perspectivas de esta variable para el conjunto de la economía nacional y se detalla su comportamiento por agentes económicos o sectores institucionales. Otro apartado está dedicado al sector privado que se desglosa entre hogares y empresas. Por último se habla del ahorro público</abstract>
