Sumario: International, European or American standards on firefighters' helmet, boots or gloves stipulate minimum requirements for the protection of firefighters, whereas comfort functions are relatively neglected. The structural differences in the officially approved helmets, gloves and boots can reduce regional thermoregulatory burdens and improve subjective perceptions.
