<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Las crecientes cantidades de residuos producidas en el sector de los aceites vegetales usados (AVU), como consecuencia de su cada vez más habitual tratamiento y refinado previo a su transformación en biodiésel, están generando problemas en el sector. Dichos residuos no son actualmente valorizados en forma alguna, pudiendo causar importantes daños ambientales cuando se hace una gestión inadecuada de ellos. Con objeto de dar solución a esta problemática surgió el Proyecto VALUVOIL, con título original "Demonstration of zero waste cycle of the complete VALorization of residues from refining of use vegetable OIL's" cofinanciado por el programa LIFE de la Unión Europea</abstract>
