<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Como es sabido, la Ley 26/2007 de 23 de octubre, de Responsabilidad Medioambiental (LRM), no protege todos los recursos naturales, tan sólo aquéllos que tienen cabida en el concepto de Recurso natural, sean éstos públicos como privados, con las excepciones previstas en los numerales 4 y 5 de su art.3. En este contexto, se hace necesario recurrir a otras modalidades de pólizas de seguros complementarias a las Garantías Financieras Obligatorias impuestas por la LRM, para una mejor protección del medio ambiente, del operador y de terceros perjudicados. En tal sentido, estimamos que entre los productos que ofrece el Pool Español de Riesgos Medioambiental (PERM), el modelo de póliza Seguro de Responsabilidad Medioambiental y Civil por Contaminación, resulta ser una herramienta de lo más adecuada para dar solución a esta problemática</abstract>
