<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Los productos químicos que existen en el lugar de trabajo no pueden producir efectos tóxicos sin que ingresen primero en el organismo. Existen cuatro vías principales por las cuales pueden entrar: a través de la inhalación, a través de la piel, a través del sistema digestivo y a través de los ojos. En la cuatro vías de entrada, los químicos pueden penetrar hacia el torrente sanguíneo y luego ser distribuidos a cualquier parte del cuerpo. En esta forma, pueden atacar o dañar ciertos órganos que están distantes del punto de ingreso original, aunque, por supuesto, también pueden dañar al órgano (pulmón, piel, intestino u ojos) que actuó como punto de ingreso </abstract>
