24500‎$a‎Marching towards universal health insurance in Asia
520  ‎$a‎The last decade has seen reforms in healthcare financing and movements towards medical insurance as a supplementary source of healthcare financing in Asia. We have seen this in China, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, several health funds in India, and this year in Abu Dhabi and Indonesia. Next in line is Singapore; perhaps Malaysia and Hong Kong as they appear to be taking steps in this direction. If we go back another 10 years, we would add South Korea, Taiwan, and a number of other countries to the list. Mr Pang Chye of Milliman tells us about the range of universal health insurance schemes found in Asia.
