<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Las mutualidades, sociedades de ayuda mutua, de ayuda reciproca o de socorros mutuos, tienen su origen en la Grecia clasica y Roma. Desde entonces, se han ido articulando diversas formas de mutualidades o sociedades de socorros mutuos, hasta que a mediados del siglo XVlll se les dio carácter legal en Ingiaterra. En España hay actualmente más de 400 mutualidades.</abstract>
