<abstract displayLabel="Summary">El 14 de abril de 2010 pasará a la Historia de la navegación aérea como el día en que la nube de ceniza lanzada a la atmósfera por la erupción del volcán islandés Eyjafjallajökull provocó el cierre de gran parte del espacio aéreo europeo durante una semana, lo que se tradujo en la cancelación de 100.000 vuelos, caídas del tráfico aéreo superiores al 11 %, pérdidas económicas en torno a los 4.000 millones de euros y más de un millón de pasajeros afectados. </abstract>
