<abstract displayLabel="Summary">In recent years, there has been significant growth in the number of captive insurance companies globally. There are now more than 4,000 captive insurers, with an estimated annual premium flowing into captives in the excess of US$55 billion. Mr Robert McCabe from AIG Asia Pacific gives an introduction to captives and details the factors a company should consider in deciding whether to utilise a captive, the various types of captives, and the overall benefits of using them. </abstract>
