With increasing volatility and severity of risk events in China, as well as the increasingly globalised Chinese economy, the C-ROSS (China Risk Oriented Solvency System) development is not only timely, but comes at a critical time for the industry. It is hoped that companies will become more aware of risk management and how to develop practices to meet C-ROSS requirements. More importantly, companies should not treat risk management as a mere compliance exercise, as it should form part of a company's strategy in developing its business going forward.
