<abstract displayLabel="Summary">As a rising economic powerhouse, Asia is on the business agenda of many reinsurers around the world, and the region is definitely making an impact on the global reinsurance scene. Eight global players say that besides the business opportunities Asia offers for global reinsurers, several natural catastrophes in 2011, in particular the Thailand floods, also highlighted the enormous accumulation potential of supply chain disruptions. Reinsurers will need to address this risk as Asia is the manufacturing base of many consumer products.  </abstract>
