<abstract displayLabel="Summary">De todos es sabido que la Responsabilidad Civil del médico no alcanza -salvo determinadas excepciones- a los resultados. El facultativo tienes una obligación de medios, debiendo poner los avances de la Ciencia Médica al servicio del paciente, en aras de obtener su curación y, si ello no fuera posible, al menos el alivio de los síntomas. Sin embargo, este esquema, hasta hace relativamente poco tiempo aceptado por la gran mayoría de autores, se ve en entredicho en las denominadas acciones de wrongful birth, expresión que puede ser traducida como "nacimiento inapropiado" o "nacimiento erróneo". Estas acciones van a ser objeto de estudio seguidamente.</abstract>
