520  ‎$a‎In June 2.017, the Health Care Industry Cybersecurity Task Force, which was established by Congress as part of the Cybersecurity Act of 2.015, published its Report on Improving Cybersecurity in the Health Care Industry. The report serves as a reminder to both the medícal field and the federal government that cyberthreats against health care providers need to be taken seriously as a matter of critica! importance to both public health and national security. lt stresses the serious dangers to patient safety, privacy and care that can result from deficient cybersecurity in the health care sector. lt also highlights the dangers created by everincreasing digital interconnectivity, and the steps the industry needs to take to handle cyber-related challenges.
