Each article in this collection presents the origins of one mutual or cooperative insurance company and its activities today which reflect the mutual and cooperative values on which it was founded. The objective is to raise awareness and portray a full picture of the mutual and cooperative sector and its values. While the mutual values are common to all of them and unite them, each mutual has a unique story and background.  </abstract>
