<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Como cualquier otro país, Italia comenzó a lidiar el coronavirus en enero, cuando China impuso el cierre parcial y los problemas sanitarios y los problemas en la cadena de distribución global se extendieron por todo el mundo. Lo que sucedió desde entonces puso a Italia en una situación singular en Europa ya que fue el primer país en experimentar una crisis interna y un confinamiento más largo que otros países de alrededor. Los problemas relacionados con el Coronavirus en Italia empezaron a propagarse el viernes 21 de febrero, cuando se encontraron los primeros casos en la zona norte del país en gente que no había viajado a China, por tanto, se desconoce el origen del brote. Desde ese día la situación sanitaria se agravó rápidamente, el 8 de marzo el virus afectaba a más de 7.000 personas en todo el país y el lunes 9 de marzo el Primer Ministro anunció el bloqueo total de todo el país.</abstract>
