Respondents most accept taking greater personal responsibility (more private saving); willingness to work longer or accept lower public benefits varies by country and age. Knowledge gaps are substantial: many misestimate retirement age, years in retirement and expected public pension income; few have precise estimates. Financial literacy is low and shapes conservative investment preferences. The report argues that expanding funded occupational/private pensions can boost retirement adequacy and supply long-term capital to the economy, highlighting large cross-country gaps in pension assets relative to GDP.</dc:description>
