Sumario: Confined spaces exist in a variety of equipment and locations. These range from boilers, furnaces, silos, manholes and tunnels to jet-fuel cells, railway thank cars or food-storage bins. Workers enter these often dangerous arenas for a variety of reasons. Companies that send workers into permit-required confined spaces should first use engineering controls to eliminate hazards. Such controls include elimination or containment of contaminants, or continous forced-air ventilation
