In order to maintain a regular surveillance of the working efficiency of the many fixed ventilation systems in the factory a rapid monitoring system has been devised, based on a portable Royco particle counter. In addition to the background monitoring system, a personal sampling programme is carried out in which every person working with asbestos in the factory is sampled once every 3 months
