Notes: Sumario: It has been two years since the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued its standard on occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens. In that time, the world of safety products has seen significant changes. The standard specifies safe practices that workers can use to protect themselves from deadly viruses like hepatitis B and HIV. In addition, it describes products that workers should use to eliminate or minimize exposure to these viruses. Specifically, it calls for engineering controls or devices that isolate or remove the bloodborne-pathogens hazard from the workplace. It also mandates the use of personal-protective equipment such as gowns, gloves, masks and shoe coversRelated records: En: Safety & health. - Itasca. - Vol. 148, nº 6, December 1993 ; p. 54-57Materia / lugar / evento: Occupational Safety and Health Administration Seguridad e higiene en el trabajo Equipos de protección individual Prevención de accidentes Agentes hematopatológicos Agentes contaminantes Enfermedades profesionales Reglamentos Estados Unidos Secondary titles: Título: Safety & health
