Notes: Sumario: The primary objective of this study was to compare the NIOSH guidelines with the actual lifting capability of workers, based on a laboratory study. In particular the objective was to determine the percentage of subjects capable of lifting loads at MPLs and the corresponding energy expenditures, heart rates, compressive forces on the L5/S1 disc, and ratings of perceived exertion.
