Sumario: As office work is being automated at an extremely fast pace, working conditions in offices are being changed dramatically by the introduction of visual display terminals (VDTs). This paper describes the characteristics of VDT work, and reports on the vision-related characteristics of the cathode-ray tube (CRT), which is the most popular information display device. It further reports on the visual environment suitable for VDT work
