Title: Welding helmet airbone fume concentrations compared to personal breathing zone sampling / Diane Liu... [et al.]
Notes: Sumario: The welding helmet would offer some degree of respiratory protection were the level of metal fumes inside meaningfully lower than in the breathing zone outside the helmet. It is generally accepted that some attenuation of fume exposure occurs with welding helmet use. This has called into question the adequacy of industrial hygiene monitoring outside the welding helmet. Nonetheless, data are limited on which this assumption of helmet-attributable exposure attenuation is based. As part of a larger study designed to examine the pulmonary health effects of welding fumes on workers, the authors measured the concentrations of zinc and iron fumes both inside and outside the welding helmet by personal breathing zone monitoring to address this questionRelated records: En: American Industrial Hygiene Association journal. - Akron, Ohio. - Vol. 56, nº 3, March 1995 ; p. 280-283Materia / lugar / evento: Higiene industrial Soldadura Contaminación en ambientes laborales Humos tóxicos Zinc Acero Valores TLV Enfermedades profesionales Enfermedades pulmonares Otros autores: Liu, Diane
