Title: The Development of European private sector insurance over the last 25 years and the conclusions that can be drawn for business management theory of insurance companies / by Dieter FarnyAuthor: Farny, Dieter
Notes: Paper presented at the 25th Seminar of the European Group of Risk and Insurance Economist, Vienna, 22 September 1998On the last 25 years insurance management studies have kept pace with actual developments in the European and worlwide insurance industry and have developed in line with the real situation. This has given rise to a degree of pluralism which has benefitted the pursuit of knowledge. On the one hand, there is the traditional study of insurance management with both feet on the ground of the realities of the insurance industry; while on the other there is a highly abstract theory of insurance, one might say with both feet "up in the air". When we come to the 50th anniversary of the Geneva Association we will know whether these two theoretical approaches are in any way compatibleRelated records: En: The Geneva papers on risk and insurance : issues and practice. - Genève. - Vol. 24, nº 2 April 1999 ; p. 145-162Materia / lugar / evento: Seguros Teoría del seguro Mercado de seguros Evolución del seguro Empresas de seguros Management Europa Perspectivas del seguro Conferencias Otros autores: Seminar of the European Group of Risk and Insurance Economists (25º: 1998: Vienna)
