<abstract>El período que va desde mediados de 1998 y que cubre todo el año de 1999 puede catalogarse, en lo económico, como el "peor" de este siglo en Colombia. Las proyecciones del modelo ajustado para el sector asegurador colombiano correspondientes a los años 2000, 2005 y 2010 muestran que la participación de los seguros de daños disminuye dentro del total a medida que aumenta la participación de la Seguridad Social. </abstract>
